On September 20, 2025, at the office of the International Women’s Public Foundation WOMAN OF EAST, in cooperation with the National University of Uzbekistan and the Association of Managers of Uzbekistan, a roundtable was held on the topic “Digital Ecology: Monitoring Technologies.”

During the event, Professor Bakhtiyor Tokhtaevich Kurbanov -Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Doctor of Geographical Sciences — presented his monograph entitled:
“The Role and Importance of Modern Information Technologies in Assessing and Analyzing the State of the Environment in Uzbekistan.”

It was noted that as early as 1999, while heading the Institute of Cadastre and Cartography of Uzbekistan, Professor Kurbanov successfully implemented a startup for the creation of the first digital hydro-ecological map of Uzbekistan. The startup was realized in the format of a public-private partnership with the financial support of the SHARQ AYOLI Foundation.

The high significance of the monograph was emphasized in speeches by Alisher Shaikhov — Advisor to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, member of the Board of Trustees of the WOMAN OF EAST Foundation — as well as Odete Mushimpoa, Head of Water Projects of the World Bank in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
